The City of New Haven was designated a Clean Cities Coalition in the Fall of 1995 by the U.S. Department of Energy. In the years that have followed the coalition’s geographic area was expanded and the coalition name was changed to the Greater New Haven Clean Cities Coalition, Inc. The mission of the Clean Cities Program is to advance the nation's economic and environmental position and improve energy security by facilitating local decisions to adopt practices that contribute to reductions of petroleum consumption. Clean Cities carries out this mission through a network of more than 85 volunteer coalitions nationwide, which develop public/private partnerships to promote alternative fuels and vehicles, fuel blends, fuel economy, hybrid vehicles, and idle reduction.
We hope you find information in our website that will help you learn about the many benefits of Alternative Fuels and encourage you to become involved in the Clean Cities Program.
